Getting Started in Nocturne
A 3–8 player trial, one hidden monster, two blackouts, one hatch. Learn the loop before the gas hits.
Nocturne drops you into a fallen society with almost no tutorial padding. The Roblox description is the rulebook: a plague broke the world, a serum made something worse, and the architects are still watching. You and two to seven other players wake in a trial zone. Most of you are Survivors. At least one of you is a Nocturne — human in the light, a monster in the dark. Nobody is labelled. That uncertainty is the game.
This page is the first-hour briefing. After it, you should be able to queue without freezing when the lights cut. Deeper pages cover survival, monster play, breakers, and serum.
What you are playing
- Platform: Roblox, free, by Nocturnal Group.
- Lobby size: 3–8 players, max 8.
- Genre: Survival / 1 vs All with a social-deduction layer.
- Avatar: the universe morphs to R6.
- Voice chat: not supported on the experience — you read body language, loot paths, and votes.
- Status: publicly playable after the May 2026 launch tweet; still receiving studio updates (last noted 10 September 2026).
If you searched “Nocturne” and landed on a rhythm RPG or a 1999 horror title, you are on the wrong wiki. This one is the Roblox trial.
Win conditions (memorise these)
Survivors win if even one Survivor escapes. You do not need a full squad extract. Protect the person who can reach the hatch.
Nocturnes win if they eliminate every Survivor first. A stylish 3K that lets one person slip the hatch is a loss.
The structure is strict: two cycles, two blackouts, one hatch out. Plan your greed around that, not around an endless generator slog.
Minute one as a Survivor
- Claim codes in the lobby if you have not. Then load in.
- Orient. Find walls, loot piles, and the nearest breaker box. Power work shortens the blackout — that is your only real clock.
- Loot tools. A flashlight on the floor is not flavour; it is information when the gas comes.
- Glance at the vials. Anyone who camps them without looting is a serum suspect.
- Stay in earshot of at least one other player without stacking like a tour group. Isolated Survivors feed the night form.
- When the lights die and the gas pours, move to the next area. The description is literal: survive or be left behind.
Do not start a public accusation in the first thirty seconds unless you watched someone drink. Early false votes are how Nocturnes win social rounds.
Minute one if you are the hidden Nocturne
You look like everyone else until you drink. Your job in the light is to be boring.
- Do a little Survivor work. Hovering only at vials is a confession.
- Drink serum when sightlines break — a corner, a blackout edge, a teammate who already committed to a far breaker.
- When the lights go out, stop pretending and hunt. The night form exists to devour, not to teabag generators.
- If the lobby starts a vote, push an innocent who actually did something visible (solo looting, late to a breaker). Quiet players are harder to sell.
Pick a kit later. For the first night, any starter — Nightweaver, Prototype, or Wraith — teaches the same loop. Rank them on the tier list after you have a feel.
Systems that sit outside the trial
Runes and Credits. Codes such as GIMMERUNES grant Runes for the monster-parts shop. Credits come from play. Redeem before you grind the Jack of All Trades badge (ten wins as each starter).
Updates. Alpha testing ran in December 2025 with a planned beta at month’s end. Public launch was announced on 24 May 2026. Character IDs such as N021 Wendigo appeared on official art before launch. Track changes on the updates hub.
Maps. The studio posted a Ruined Cathedral showcase. Learn vertical sightlines there before you assume every trial is a flat warehouse.
A simple first-session plan
- Redeem codes.
- Play two Survivor games focusing only on breakers and not dying in the first blackout.
- Play one game where you accept the hidden role if it lands — even if you lose, you learn how loud a serum drink looks.
- Skim controls if you are on mobile; the Codes button and interaction prompts sit in different corners than the stick.
- Bookmark official links so the next code is not a rumour.
You do not need scripts. You do not need a ten-page conspiracy board. You need to touch power, watch vials, and remember that one escape beats a heroic last stand. When that sentence feels obvious, leave this page and specialise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many players are in a Nocturne match?
Three to eight. The Roblox server size is 8. Smaller lobbies make the hidden role louder; full eights hide it better.
Can Survivors win if only one person escapes?
Yes. One hatch extract wins the round for Survivors. Play for a living player, not for a perfect squad wipe on the monster.
Should I redeem codes before my first game?
Yes. Use the top-right Codes button. See working codes and how to redeem.
Is Nocturne still in beta?
Alpha and beta ran in late 2025. The official account posted a public launch in May 2026. The experience is live and still updating.
